Disrespectful Players

So I just learned today while reading a post on Club Crimsyn that players of TS3 are being far more disrespectful then players of TS2. Many are posting comments that a either completely disrespectful to CC creators or boarding on disrespectful. Comments like "I would download this if..." or even "This sucks! blah blah doesn't work! Fix it!" are littered throughout websites like My Sims 3 Blog and TSR. Let me say this now: This is in no way insulting the efforts of My Sims 3 Blog or TSR staff. They're doing their best to keep these kinds of things to a minimum, but they still happen. Anyway, when I saw this post I was literally appaled. Ever since I started using CC (probably... Early 2008) I've always been respectful to creators whether it be slicking the "thanks" button on MTS or leaving a comment about their work. I can't imagine people being rude or disrespectful to these creators! They don't have to create things an post them. It is exhausting, sometimes, creating things, posting them, and keep track of a website while also juggling real life. To, in turn, be insulted or disrespected after doing that would depress anyone and has made many TS2 veteran designers quit instead of designing for TS3.

Everybody knows the CC maker Pilar, right? Pilar's website has over 300 thousand views and she/he is very popular on TSR as well. I was browsing Pilar's blog today (as I often do ;)) and I found that barely ANY uploads had comments! No thank yous no great jobs. Nothing. Keep in mind, this isn't rude, but it is a little bit disrespectful to not tell a designer how much you appriciate their objects in game. Objects take hours of meshing and hard work to get right; please show how much you care!

So my challenge to all of you is to comment on everything you download, if not, then at least the majority of things. We all love to be praised for our work and designers aren't machines; they're people too! Please, repay the kindness they've bestowed on you and thank them :).

First Generation

[MACIAS] Happy Birthday....s?

The started as any other for the Macias family. Leiah woke up early and triumphantly made it to the fridge to whip up some pancakes for Goran and Amberly. Her back was sore and she hardly slept, but still she loved her family and would provide for them... pregnant or not. While she cooked a deep warmth setteled in her stomach as she glimpsed down at her bulging stomach; she was due soon.

Later that evening, after a day of visiting strangers, Goran relaxed in their cozy living room and read. The warmth of the fire spread through him and he continued to slowly wrap the fact that he was a father around his mind. He adored the thought and the fact that his beautiful wife would carry his child was even more heartwarming. Goran tried to focus hard on his book so his excitement wouldn't boil over.

His distraction didn't last long because Leiah's soft footsteps were coming into the room. He looked up swiftly and smiled lovingly at her. Setting the book on the table, Goran slowly moved over to her and pulled her into a loving embrace, however he noticed instantly that she was rigid.

Pulling back he gazed into her hazel eyes, "What's the matter?" he asked softly.

Her face suddenly became that of a small child's and she looked into his eyes, seeking strength.

"Am I a good mother? Should... Should I really have another one...?" She whispered, tears brimming on her lids.

He smiled at her with a sad smile, "You are perfect."

He felt a lump form in his own throat at his wife's usual confident demeanor fall before him. She was so scared, but he knew he would hold her up through this.

As their embrace broke, Goran gave her a quirky grin, "Can I listen now?" He asked playfully and Leiah only laughed, pushing out her stomach as he knelt down and heard the little kicks of his future child.

As they prepared to go to bed after tucking Amberly in, Leiah suddenly felt a sharp pain in her side. The first few she ignored, thinking them to be false labor pains, but once a really strong caught her off guard she knew it was the real thing. Moaning out in pain in the middle of the hallway Goran was immediatly by her side coaxing her into the taxi.

In a flury, they left their mountain home for the long drive down to Sunset General and left Amberly with a babysitter. Leiah kept her cool for the most part, breathing softly and quietly even has sharp knives stabbed her on all sides.

They finally reached the hospital and rushed inside. Leiah was surprised to find that she had not just one baby but three! Knowing natural birth was impossible in that case, doctors rushed her into immediate c-section surgery as Goran stood in a viewing room, trying to smile at his wife. His usual surgeon cool slipped occasionally as he saw his wife's stomach split open, but as soon as his three little girls emerged he only held joy on his face. 

A week later they were free to leave the hospital and Leiah emerged with a confident face, but inside she was only thinking: How the heck are we going to do this?
