Age: Young Adult
Leiah is from an inner-city family. In her childhood home it wasn't rare for shots to be heard outside on the street and windows were always barred. Her home, however, was a rather loving one with a mother who tried to hide the fact that she was beaten daily. Even so, it didn't take much for Leiah to become absorbed in the society around her. When she was 18, she thought she had found her true love... Well, at least the man who had a job. At 18 she was ripe for the marriage age and the man was respected in the community. Before they were wed, however, Leiah became pregnant with Amberly. Her mother, being a strong Catholic, wasted no time in kicking her out and the man skipped town. Leiah was lucky enough to find a good man who offered her a low-income job; she gladly took it. For the first couple years of Amberly's life, Leiah mooched off of friends for living quarters and child care while she worked two jobs. Finally, after much saving, she was able to afford a small home in Sunset Valley, a nice suburban area away from her home. The last thing the young mother wanted was for her daughter to live like she had. She never wanted to see her daughter clinging her pregnant belly while she cried on the cement outside; like she had.
Leiah is ambitious, cleanly, and an excellent cook. All of those traits she picked up from her lovely mother who always told her to do better for herself. She also loves being surrounded by family and people she loves. Her home was always filled with distant relatives and extended family and Leiah hopes her home may be that way someday.
Age: Young Adult
Goran was born to a very wealthy family, but with apathetic parents. He never really understood what it was like to have family around him and absorbed himself in learning. It didn't take long for people to realize he was a genius. IQ 187. As Goran progressed through his elementary and short high school years he was much like a robot; reacting according to each situation. Except one specific night... When Goran was 13 he witnessed a horrible car accident and an overwhelming need to help the people injured came over him. Despite his mothers shouts and screams he climbed out of the car and rushed over to victims. A blur of EMTs and firefighters surrounded him and, before long, he felt himself being dragged away, but the image of the helpless look on one of the women's faces tainted his memory. For weeks he couldn't get the image out of his mind; every detail sharp and clear in his mind it was then that Goran knew he had to become a doctor. Two years later, he graduated high school and entered college and blew through that straight into med school at 18. Although med school was more challenging, it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. Through hard work and dedication to his patients, Goran became the youngest world renowned surgeon in recent history; he was only 24. Through his success he began really understanding himself and realizing what he wanted. Although he loved the urban hospitals and new want had implanted itself in his mind; the want for a family. With easy flexibility he left the inner-city behind and moved to the Sunset Valley suburbs.
Goran is ambitious, family oriented, and musically talented. All these traits were learned early and sustained.

Amberly Macias
Age: Child
Amberly never met her father and sometimes doesn't understand why Goran isn't her real father. She loves her mother and step-father more then anything and would easily consider them her best friends. The only thing she really hates is when her mother calls her in for dinner; that means she won't be able to go outside till the next day.
Amberly adores the outdoors and, though she's very unlikely, is friendly and is good to others. She's absorbed these traits from her parents and her own "meditations" in the outdoors. Amberly is beginning to harbor some jealousy towards her new sisters because they have Goran as their real father.
